My friend Gunter, a vegan patisserie, came over to my place and cooked his Cherry Flan – it looks and tastes soooooo good. What do you think?
Below is the recipes for the lentil pies I demonstrated at the Kiama Show. They are really easy to make and children love them….
Ingredients
6 cups x cooked brown lentils
¼ cup x olive oil
½ cup x plain flour
3 cups x boiling vegetable stock (1/2 Tbsp stock powder : 3 cups water)
1 Tbsp x dark soy sauce
2 tsp x mild curry powder
10 sheets x puff pastry (Borg brand) cut into pie bases and lids
Method
Note
If you don’t have an electric pie cooker you can make the pies in a large muffin tins or pie tines and cook in the oven at 180oC for 20 minutes.
We had so much fun doing the vegetarian cooking demonstrations at the Kiama Show today. The thing I love most about doing these demos is that everyone gets to sample the food after I cook it. We made Lentil Pies – A big thumps up from all especially the kids, they really loved them. Also made a Vegetarian Massamam Curry, a recipe I learned to cook while doing a Vegan Thai cooking class in Bangkok. Everyone loved this one too, and if you don’t make it too spicy children will enjoy it also. I had a few come up to me and say ”I loved the curry”. A big that you goes out to Sol at Heart & Sol Organics Kiama for sponsoring the demo, with out them it wouldn’t be possible. They have such great organic products and produce, they even home deliver. If you were at the demo, please make sure you pop in and see Sol and thank him for providing the ingredients. He is located at Shop 24/106 Terralong St Kiama. Ph: (02) 4232 2348 .
Our new home in Berry awaits enovations.
Re-use, refuse, recycle. It’s a great way to live and a great way to save money if you have the time. We want to show you our home and what we are doing to re-use materials, refuse to be consumers and to recycle what we can to make less of an impact on our world. We will be posting about our journey with our little cottage in Berry NSW on a quarter of an acre of land in town. We want to live a healthier more sustainable life and this means giving up on things that we have been used to doing, changing old habits and finding new ways to live daily life. We hope that you find this useful!
